At St Richard’s, we believe that Computing is an integral part of preparing children to live in a world where technology is continuously and rapidly evolving, so much so that children are being prepared to work with technology that doesn’t even exist yet. For this reason, we feel that it is important that children are able to participate in the creation of these new tools to fully grasp the relevance of and the possibilities of emerging technologies .
We are fortunate to have a designated, fully equipped ICT resource bay. All classes have designated sessions every week in the suite. There is also an interactive whiteboard and at least two computers/laptops available in each classroom. KS2 children have access to a laptop trolley with laptops which are wireless and linked to the school network. In addition, there are iPads available across the whole school for children to use. All this supports our approach to personalised learning.
Parents are asked to complete a permission form before Internet access is allowed.
