We know how brilliantly your children have been doing with their phonics, learning all of the sounds, putting them together to read words and starting to use their sounds to help them write words too. It would be great if they want to carry on doing some phonics with you at home too.
Each week we will give you some new sounds or tricky words to focus on and some suggested links or activities to do. It is a good idea to practice the song of sounds as often as possible, it really helps to learn the sounds (although parents you may find yourselves singing it all day!) Please do not feel under pressure to do all of the activities, follow your own child, if they are keen to then that is great, if not do not worry, these are a just suggestions. As always please add any successes or things that your children have enjoyed doing onto tapestry for us to see.
Week beginning 1.6.20
This week we are looking at some new tricky words (irregular words) that the children need to learn to read by sight as you cannot sound these words out.
The words for this week are:
go no to was saw
There are lots of ideas of ways you can help your children to learn these tricky words in the file below.
There is also a powerpoint to look at as well as some wordsearches you may want to try. Hope the tricky words don't trick you!!
This tricky word song goes through the tricky words we have already learned and will help to learn the new ones.
Can you sing along to the song of sounds, try and join in with each picture and don't forget to do the actions too!
